Fall Favorites

I thought I would share with ya'll some of my most recent favorite things. Maybe you'll find something that becomes your new favorite thing! Here they are in no particular order...

Starbucks Toffee Mocha. Best drink ever! Hot or cold you can't go wrong with this seasonal beverage.

Revlon's Just Bitten lip stain + balm. I have tried A LOT of lipsticks/glosses and this one is worthy of a spot in your makeup bag. It is not thick or sticky and the color really does last. So easy to apply too! I bought the colors "Forbidden" and "Twilight". Love them both!

Steve Madden "Heaven" flats. I bought the gray patent pair a week or two ago and I think I have worn them every day since. They don't squish toes or rub heels and at only $40 you can get every color! I got mine at my favorite place to shoe shop -  DSW.

Annies's Bunny Grahams. Just try them. Find them in the organic food section at your grocery store.

Lastly, go visit Knight Moves blog. Love her style and her home. She is a HomeGoods shopper too!

Good gravy! Look who's 80!

This year my PawPaw turns 80! To celebrate, we are throwing him a surprise birthday party! I love party planning and wouldn't miss this opportunity to celebrate my PawPaw and give him a party he truly deserves. While other family members are taking care of the catering details, guest list, etc. I have volunteered to "make it pretty". Here are some inspiration photos for his outdoor birthday lunch...

I definitely want to do the paper lanterns in orange or white and I really like the chocolate brown linens. In addition to a beautiful cake I also want to have other desserts in chocolate and orange. My friend, Tara, found pumpkin bark at World Market. Pumpkin dipped pretzel sticks, anyone?

Weekend Update

(I will admit I had to think about this for a few minutes and then ask Scott to fill in what I couldn't remember)

Friday

  • I took Leyton and we went to Fort Worth to have lunch with my friend Leah. We met when I first started working at White House Black Market over six years ago! She and her husband are expecting a baby boy in November so it was great to catch up and talk about babies and pregnancy, etc.
  • Scott was playing golf when I got home. Actually, he went to hit golf balls and that turned into playing nine holes and that turned into playing the full course. It was kinda late when he got home (which messed up the plans I had made for us in my head but had not shared them with him) and I was slightly annoyed. He made it up to me by taking us out to Pei Wei. My new favorite place!

Jackie, me, L, Kim, and Evie
Saturday

  • Saturday morning we went down to Dallas to celebrate my friend Kim's daughter's first birthday. Kim did such a good job with everything considering she also has a brand new baby girl. L was all tuckered out after his first birthday party and slept all the way home.
  • On our way home from the party we stopped at Babies 'R Us. We are such a sucker for that place. L got some new hooded towels and wash cloths, adorable pin stripe pants and a watching argyle sweater.
  • Birthday Girl

  • That night we watched the Texas v. Tech game.

Sunday

  • We skipped church but met my family at McDonald's after they got out. L had a bit of a late night early morning so we were just not going to make it out that early.
  • That afternoon Leyton and I watched the Cowboys game and took a nap (Scott was doing some work at home) before I left to go to Leah's baby shower. This was only the third time since L was born that I have left him with Scott for more than an hour. According to Dad he "screamed for an hour and half" but Scott tends to be dramatic so I'm not sure this is totally accurate.
Overall, we had a great weekend! Scott is heading to Seattle this upcoming weekend and I am insanely jealous! More on that later...

LRQB

I can't start this blog without introducing the blog world to my brand-spankin' new baby boy, Leyton Robert Quincy. L was born on 7/7/10. He is the sweetest little big baby I could ask for! At two months and twelve days he is weighing in at about 17 pounds and 26 inches. He loves baths, sitting in his bouncy chair, petting his puppies, swinging and cuddling. He is a champion sleeper and eater (obviously not missing any meals!) Here are a few photos of him...
First photo of the two of us
6 days old
First smiles - 6 weeks
Today - 2 months and 12 days

Isn't he precious?
