Bunco!

Once a month I play Bunco with a hodgepodge group of girls. Some of the girls are former co-workers of Scott or wives of his former co-workers. Others are friends/co-workers of Scott's cousin's girlfriend, Bre. Confused? Anyway, its been so much fun getting to know these people and I LOVED hosting Bunco last month. This month it was Tara's turn to host and she requested that we come in costume! My mother-in-law surprised with me a Red Queen (from Alice in Wonderland) costume. Thanks Julie! She was dressed as Audrey Hepburn.

P.S. A few of our members (not pictured) are pregnant and a few are trying to get pregnant! I'm looking forward to a Bunco group baby boom in the next year. And maybe hosting a shower or two :)

3 Months

Leyton turned 3 months old October 7th. This post is a little late but like I said, I have a 3 month old. Three months has gone by so quickly and he is changing everyday. Here are a few things about Leyton at 3 months...
  • He weighs 19+ pounds and is 27 inches. (95th percentile for height and weight!)
  • He wears mostly size 12 month clothes.
  • He is teething and drooling A LOT!
  • He is starting to grab things and hold onto them more.
  • He rides in the toddler seat of his stroller now and loves it!
  • He is still breast feeding (and obviously not missing any meals)
  • He has discovered his voice and "sings" himself to sleep.
Leyton is overall a really happy baby and we love being his parents. He is so sweet and snuggly! Part of me can't wait to have another baby and part of me wishes to have 5 years just to spend with him. It is hard to imagine sharing my time with anything else. I wish he could stay a baby forever but I know that is just not how life works! Here is Leyton this past month...

Seattle Trip Part 2

Saturday Scott dropped us off at Katie's, picked up some of the other groomsmen and headed to the wedding venue for photos and such. The girls (and babies) were all riding up together so we spent the afternoon hanging out and getting ready for the wedding.

When we got to the wedding we were greeted with a hot cup of apple cider to sip while we waited for the ceremony to start. L was soundly sleeping in his stroller up until the very second Lacy arrived at the alter, the music stopped, and there was a quiet pause before the minister started speaking. Quiet, that is, except for the crying baby. MY crying baby! There were probably fifteen babies and small children in attendance and I had to have the one that cried first! I snatched him from his stroller and walked out the back so I missed the ceremony :( The reception was so fun and beautifully decorated. I really appreciated all the small details Lacy paid attention to and I wish I had taken more photos.

Sunday we hit downtown again and did some shopping. That evening we met up with everyone (Scott's high school friends) in Wedgewood for dinner. After dinner we picked up Toby and Lacy to take them to the airport. Before dropping them off we stopped at The Cheesecake Factory for dessert! It was fun to catch up with them without them having 300 other people to talk to in the same night.

Monday we packed up then met Scott's Aunt Jan downtown for lunch. After lunch we made one more pass through Nordstrom (I could spend a few days shopping there) before heading to the airport. Baby boy was so exhausted from the weekend that he was asleep on the plane before we even took off. What a relief that he slept during the entire flight!

I miss Seattle and there are so many things we didn't get to do so we're working on plans for our next visit! Maybe an anniversary trip in December? Stay tuned...

Seattle Trip Part 1

We had an amazing trip to Seattle last weekend. It was an exhausting trip with all the wedding duties Scott was involved in and trying to visit friends and spend as much time strolling downtown as possible. And there are still so many things that we didn't get to do! Here is a recap of our trip in photos...

Wednesday our flight landed in Seattle around 9:30 pm. By the time we got our luggage, picked up the rental car, and stopped by the market for a late dinner it was nearly midnight (2 am Texas time) before we were settled in the condo. We definitely needed some coffee the next morning. Good thing we were in the right city for that!
{First plane trip as a family of three}

Thursday
we walked to the market before meeting our friend Katie and her baby, Jack for lunch at the Nordstrom cafe (wish our Nordstrom had a cafe). After lunch we shopped briefly then headed home to get ready for the rehearsal and dinner in Snohomish.

Friday Scott helped set up for the wedding while I stayed at the condo with L. When he got back we walked to Pacific Place for a late lunch. That night I went to Katie's for dinner and wine with the girls (+ Jack and Leyton) and Scott and the other groomsmen had dinner and went bowling with Toby.

Seattle

We are packing up and flying out to Seattle for the weekend! One of Scott's best friends from high school is getting married and Scott is in the wedding. I have been looking forward to this trip since our last visit in March. Its no secret around here that I LOVE Seattle. If we ever have the opportunity to have a second home, Seattle would be my first pick. I found this great condo downtown near Pike Place Market that we are staying in. I'm so excited to spend the weekend living like a real Seattlite - strolling the market, getting coffee at the original Starbucks, shopping at Nordstrom!  I can't wait to see all of Scott's high school friends and see Toby and Lacy get married! I know that Lacy has planned an amazing wedding and I'm happy we get to be a part of it. Here's a few photos of the place we're staying...

XOXO,
