I am SO behind on blogging about Leyton's month-to-month growth. Makes me sad that have no time to keep up and its getting harder and harder to remember the things he's doing! I started this post when he turned 7 months...
Leyton has had a few big milestones this month!
First, he cut two bottom teeth on Sunday the 6th. They are just poking through but they're there! Teething hasn't seemed to bother him too badly but we keep Baby Orajel close at hand. He has had a runny nose and cough related to teething and that is definitely no fun.
Second, he is sleeping in his own bed now! This is more of a milestone for me than for him I think. Prior to now I have just not been ready for him to be SO far away. He cried for about 30 min the first night and each night since has been better. We bought a video monitor so that helps me out too.
And that was as far as I got. The sleeping in his own bed thing lasted all of three days before I realized that was not what I wanted and I was letting other people pressure me into changing my parenting habits because of their own beliefs. He is now back in our bed where he belongs :)
So back to what L is doing these days (8 1/2 months)...crawling! Everyone and anywhere! He has been mobile since 7 months but really started crawling forward on his hands and knees March 13th. He also pulled himself up to standing for the first time in early February but he is doing that a lot more now. He usually takes 3 naps a day - mid morning, early afternoon, and early evening. He is eating a variety of solid foods and he just tried cheese and YoBaby yogurts for the first time this week. He LOVES to feed himself too!
He is very friendly to strangers and will smile at just about anyone who talks to him. We constantly get comments on how easy going and happy he is. He is very persistent and so chatty too!
He is so smitten with the dogs/cats. He squeals in delight whenever he sees them. Dixie is the most fond of Leyton. She loves to lick his feet when he's sitting in the high chair and she doesn't mind him crawling all over her when she's laying on the floor. I am so happy that he will grow up without a fear of dogs. Hopefully he will develop the same love and respect for animals that his parents have.
Oh, and I can't forget to mention that he weighs 25 lbs too.
Now for pictures...
